Capturing the individualism and expression of people in everyday life is a continual challenge and thrill for Lois Rosio Sprague.
Mediums such as watercolor, pastel and charcoal provide limitless opportunities for Lois to create mood with color and texture. Lois possesses uncanny discernment in choosing the medium that will best portray the personality of her subject--whether painting a fine art portrait, a memorial portrait, or a children's book illustration.
Lois has been chosen as an illustrator for several children's books, and has participated in many watercolor and pastel exhibits across the country. She is a Signature Member of the Transparent Watercolor Society of America, and enjoys popular demand as a portrait artist.
As an artist, Lois is constantly looking for new ways to express her creativity. Branching out on a larger scale, Lois has performed Live Art on stage--doing six-foot by four-foot pastels--for national conferences, festivals, retreats and worship venues. She recently completed a commission for a timeless image on a life-size fiberglass elk for the Teller County, Colorado Elk Tour. Lois also was selected to depict a sled dog team on the Black Diamond Sled Dog's Iditarod Trailer.
